In this year as well, Solo Positivo Film Festival brings to Opatija six days of films and music with numerous events with and around the festival itself. The application process for film submissions for the 7th Solo Positivo Film Festival is now finished, and the complete program will soon be published and available on the festival's official web page. The festival administration announced a rich program variety for this year as well, with the partner country this year being Italy. Starting from this year, a cross section of all the regional accomplishments will be shown within the program „Regio'n' Roll“, while the retrospective program will present films by the famous British director Julien Temple.
The selector of this year's festival is the distinguished German director Uli Schueppel, member of the European Film Academy and author of the cult documentary film „The Road to God Knows Where“.
This whole event will, this year as well, most certainly add a whiff of glamour to cultural events in our country, and to the lovers of this seventh art form it will afford the pleasure of yet another unforgettable film and music event.

Croatian Documentary Film Festival
LIBURNIA FILM FESTIVAL
Monday – Friday, August 22 – 26, 2016 / Open Air Theatre, Opatija
After it has brought into prominence the little harbor of Ičići, which has for the last 13 years selflessly shared its view of the lights of the Kvarner Bay with several tens of thousands of aficionados of a good documentary, this longest-lasting festival of Croatian documentary film, Liburnia Film Festival, will in its 14th issue move to the Open Air Theatre of Opatija. In the period from August 22 – 26, and divided into two evening program blocks, some 20 recent Croatian documentaries will again be shown at the LFF, as part of the main and of the regional competition, as well as films outside the competition that were produced by this festival's partner, Restart. Judging by the number of application entries so far, this might turn out to be a record year!
At the end of August, some 60 festival guests, film makers, film critics and festival selectors, distributors and TV editors from our country and from abroad will arrive to Opatija, so there will be no lack of the traditional „mingling“. It will also be continued with the well prepared educational practice - with the workshop entitled „My very first film shooting“ for the film beginners, the workshop „A Film Beginners' Book“ for the youngest ones, and with a case study of the Croatian documentary film successes. On the last day of the festival, August 26, prizes for the best film within the main program, as well as within the regional program, will be awarded, together with the professional prizes for the best director, photographer, editing and sound design. The audience will also award a prize to the film of their liking, and they will also be able to award prize money to the author of that film, a practice that was introduced in 2014.
Liburnia Film Festival is organized in cooperation with the Restart from Zagreb and Festival Opatija, with the support by Delta Association and Filmaktiv from Rijeka as well as by international partners - Institute of Documentary Film (IDF), Balkan Documentary Center and Balkan Documentary Distribution Network.
