The Jerry Ricks Blues Festival was created in 2019 by merging of two renowned Kvarner blues festivals - Kastav Blues Festival and B&D, i.e. Opatija Riviera Blues Festival, which in the last ten years have given a big boost to the cultural and touristic offer of Kastav and the Opatija Riviera. The festival, in memory and dedication, was named after the American country blues guitarist and singer Jerry Ricks, who lived in Kastav for a short time, where he is also buried.
