To experience carnival in Opatija, you can attend the Balinjerada soapbox race of original self-made vehicles called karići that run on ball bearings (locally known as balinjere - hence the name) instead of wheels. This crazy race is a barrel of fun for both young and old.

Taxi Balinjera is the name of a programme which enables visitors and tourists to experience this crazy ride themselves. Don’t wait any longer - put on a mask and come to Opatija during summer carnival!

At 7 p.m. test drives will begin and official start of the race is at 8:30 p.m.
