The most beautiful road leading to the most beautiful sea – this is how we like to call the motorway Rijeka - Zagreb that connects our biggest port with our capital, making the journey shorter and safer.
Its route marked across cuttings, swamps and land-slides required the perforation of 13 tunnels and the construction of 25 bridges and viaducts. It is, with good reason, the pride of its builders,

just like Lujzijana (Louisiana) – the old road connecting Karlovac and Rijeka. Just like the motorway today, the Louisiana - when it was constructed at the beginning of the 19th century - was considered the most beautiful and modern mountain road in Europe.

The motorway Rijeka – Zagreb has relocated the transit traffic from Louisiana making it easily accessible at the same time, through its numerous junctions. That is why today this road represents the ideal choice for an easy, nostalgic journey through history, enjoying in natural attractions and associating with the people living along it.
